Foundations of Public Health (FoPH) is a basic introductory certificate that provides foundational knowledge for public health workers with limited formal education or training in public health. These courses are offered via distance learning (self-paced, online course format). The certificate is sponsored by the Empire State Public Health Training Center in partnership with the University at Albany School of Public Health. It does not offer academic credit.

Public Health Live (T2B2) is a monthly webcast series designed to provide continuing education opportunities on public health issues. Broadcasts are free and available to all who are interested in furthering their knowledge of public health. The live webcast is always held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. ET on the third Thursday of each month.
Public Health Fundamentals and Principles Certificate Program
The School of Public Health offers a Certificate program in Public Health Fundamentals and Principles (CPH-FP). The Certificate is aimed at preparing students for the continuously changing challenges in public health. Students may choose to take the required courses either online or in class. Building upon the School’s relationship with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and local health departments, the program acknowledges the emerging need for creative educational modalities in health.
